-New Division for Holmes Concrete Sawing and Drilling-
HOLMES is excited to announce new cutting-edge technology CONCRETE SCANNING AND IMAGING to our clients.
The advantages of this are being able to see into a slab to determine reinforcing, post tensioning or any hidden conduit. We can do a quick on site scan with images immediately available to show the position of reinforcing, or a more complex 3-D scan for processing on the RADAN software.
Andrew Holmes recently went over to the USA to purchase the equipment and receive training in the use of it.
“We chose the GSSI system because the American’s are leaders in the field of radar imaging and their software for interpreting the results are streaks ahead of the other suppliers of similar equipment”
We have been in the concrete sawing and drilling business for over 16 years and as more and more buildings are built post-tensioned, there is a big demand for a cost effective and accurate way of locating tendons prior to coring or cutting a slab.
In addition, the scanner has a cross-over in being able to establish thickness of concrete, or asphalt on grade, as the technology enables scanning up to 450mm deep. This means we can scan a structure from one side and see what’s at the bottom of the slab without having to scan from the other side of the structure.

We are very excited about this new service, as it complements our cutting and sawing divisions, and we are able to offer our clients the additional ability to scan.
